I'm A Star

Helping your child hear & learn the language they need to communicate with you when they are learning all about  Playing & Making. Start from day one by saying what you are doing.

Craft Time

Singing songs when you wish your child to join in with an activity allows them to transition from what they are doing to the activity that you have for them to do  smoothly. As they will recognize what you are singing as you are repeating what you say and they are more likely to come and join in without making a fuss.

What Where When

Asking your child questions about what they would like to do sparks conversations. If there is something you need your child to do give them 2 options to give them a choice as it makes them feel empowered & boosts their confidence if they are allowed to make decissions for themselves. Both can be things that you need or want them to do ask which one they would like to do first will help both of you.

Making Things

Children love to make marks on things with  a variety of different mediums this enables them to express themselves and is the first stages of writing so let them explore & make & create & discover to be able to gain more vital life skills through play. While you describe the things they are using & seeing so to make the association between object, action and word association.

Build A Tower

Building a tower uses eye hand coordination from your child an important skill to concur. Every life skill your child need has to be learnt from trying so allow enough time and show your child how to do things so they can first observe how to do it. Then encourage them to have a go. Repeating things even just once a day will allow opertunities to gain the ability to master new life skills.

Shall We Play

The more we say the more children will hear & the more they will say so describe everything to your child using these short rhymes. They are perfect to change the word to describe the object that they are playing with. Why I believe using song is the most effective way is because we are using the rhythmic part of our brains when we hear & sing songs. Enabling us to store songs in sequence unlike talking. This i we can remember our favourite songs word for word perfectly and in the correct order.

Make A Picture

What ever your child creates remember it just how they wanted to make. It isn't always how we imagined it would of turned out if we were making it. But if we are always making it look perfect the children won't of had the opertunity to express & created it themselves. Pictures don't need to be perfect allow them to expolre differnt mediums. My favourite activities is mixing differnt coulors of paint & experimenting with a variety of object to make marks. Empty cereal boxes work better than paper

The Scissors

Sniping with scissors is a difficult skill to master repeated opportunities is required. Demonstrate & describe & allow time to practice difficult life skills is the key. Once they have been mastered they will have them for life so give your child the best start & help them learn everything you know. Passing on your knowledge to them is a wonderful way to bond with your child

Jigsaw Puzzle

Jigsaw are perfect for developing the attention span of your childs mind. It will also improve their coordination, obervation skills and allow them to achive something they can be proud of.Tthis song gives all the key words to use to describe all the key parts of Jigsaws. My children love going wosh along the edges & ouch at the corners this help them learn in a fun way. First i demonstrate then I guide their finger along the egdes & side whoosh & ouch!

Sewing & Stiching

Introducing a variety of different activities allows your child to gain more knowledge. We all have different interests & hobbies so pass on your knowledge to your child, what ever that may be. Exposing them to as much as possible is the most important thing when they are young. They grow up so fast so enable them to have the best start by sharing your own passions, knowledge & experiences with them.

Grains Of Sand

Having fun together in the things that you enjoy doing & pass on your knowledge of the world to your child. Is the most important thing to do.We all have differnt intrests try making up your own songs about the things you do together and make them persaol to you. I love rhythm & rhymes it helps me all the time, being dyslexic i'm working with the rhythmic side os my brain. It has helped my with reading & writing. Singing fascinates me how some children cant't talk but can sing!
